[일렉트릭파워 이재용 기자] 올해 3회째를 맞는 글로벌 종합에너지 박람회 ‘BIXPO(빛가람 국제 전력기술 엑스포, Bitgaram International Exposition of Electric Power Technology)는 세계적인 에너지 전문기업 한국전력이 광주·전남지역의 빛가람 에너지밸리 허브를 구축하는데 한전의 역할을 제고하고 미래 전력기술의 트랜드를 선도하기 위해 기획됐다.

지난해 11월 2~4일까지 열렸던 BIXPO 2016은 48개국 2,400여 명의 해외관계자와 전국 각지에서 온 5만2,000여명의 관람객이 광주·전남지역을 찾는 등 첫 해에 비해 큰 규모로 성장하며 치러졌다. 특히 179건의 비즈니스 미팅을 통해 총 11억2,000만달러(약 1조2,800억원)의 수출상담을 달성함으로써 빅스포가 단순한 전력 전시회가 아닌 기업 간 실질적인 비즈니스의 장으로 성장하고 있음을 보여줬다는 평가다.

2년간의 성과를 바탕으로 한층 성장한 BIXPO 2017이 11월 1일부터 3일까지 3일간 광주 김대중컨벤션센터와 홀리데이인호텔에서 열린다. 에너지4.0시대를 선도하는 BIXPO 2017은 전 세계 35개국 59개 글로벌 전력사 CEO 및 CTO가 참석하고 600개 부스의 전시회, 38개 컨퍼런스가 열리는 등 역대 최대 규모로 치러질 예정이다.

조환익 한전 사장은 “BIXPO 2017을 성공적으로 치러 한전이 세계 1위 전력회사를 넘어 신에너지 생태계를 주도하는 글로벌 기업으로 성장하는 기회로 만들 것”이라는 각오를 밝혔다.

역대 최대 규모, BIXPO 2017 국제컨퍼런스
BIXPO 2017은 지난해보다 참가 규모가 커져 김대중컨벤션센터 외에 홀리데이인 컨퍼런스룸 전관으로 확대됐다. 동시다발적으로 진행되는 컨퍼런스의 이원화 운영으로 최적화된 환경을 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

CTO 포럼, 전력기술 R&D성과발표회, 신기술컨퍼런스, 스페셜세션 외에 올해는 Smart City Global Leaders Summit이 신설됐고 아시아 최초로 EPRI TI Summit이 개최된다.

올해 국제컨퍼런스는 ‘Connect Ideas, Meet the 4th Revolution’이란 슬로건 아래 에너지 산업이 나아갈 방향을 살펴보고 기술의 트랜드와 융합 방향을 모색하는 데 초점이 맞춰진다.

The BIXPO 2017 will see a larger participation compared to the previous year and will be hosted in the Holiday Inn Conference Room along with the Kim Dae jung Convention Center. The conference will be operated simultaneously in parallel in these two centers and is expected to provide an optimum environment.

Along with the CTO Forum, Power Technology R&D Performance Presentation, New Technology Conference and Special Session, the Smart City Global Leaders’ Summit was newly established in this year, and the EPRI TI Summit will be held for the first time in Asia.

In this year’s international conference, the direction of the energy industry will be examined under the theme ‘Connect Ideas, Meet the 4th Revolution’ and the focus will be on finding the trend and convergence direction of technologies.

디지털 유틸리티 논의 통해 전력에너지 비전 제시
전력분야의 다보스포럼을 지향하는 CTO 포럼은 35개국 59개 글로벌 전력사 CEO 및 CTO가 참여해 미래에너지 기술 및 Utility 방향을 제시한다. 지난해 CTO 포럼은 첫 해에 비해 더 많은 글로벌 유관기관 CTO와 경영진이 참여하며 포럼 수준이 격상됐다.

각 국가 및 전력회사의 당면과제와 미래 기술 등 기술 개발 방향에 대한 청취와 토론에 만족했다.

또 다양한 전력회사, 연구기관, 제조사 간 CTO 및 전문가의 네트워킹 기회를 제공하면서 BIXPO의 개최 의미를 한층 더 돋보이게 했다는 평가를 받았다.

올해 CTO포럼은 IEN(Integrated Energy Network) and Transition to a Digital Utility라는 주제하에 세션 1에서는 디지털 유틸리티와 기술 혁신, 세션 2는 디지털 유틸리티의 실현을 테마로 심도 있는 논의가 진행된다.

특히 모바일로 현장에서 질문을 받고 이를 현장 스크린을 통해 공유하며 담당 발표자가 즉석에서 답변을 내놓는 실시간 Q&A시스템을 활용해 현장과 소통하며 토론이 진행된다.

The Vision on Power Energy will be provided through Discussion on Digital Utility The CTO Forum, which aims for the ‘Davos Forum in the Power Field’, will be attended by CEOs & STOs of 59 global power companies from 35 countries to share their views about the direction in which the technology and utilization of energy is moving in the future. In the last year’s CTO Forum, more CTOs and executives from relevant global organizations participated in the event compared to the first year to raise the status of the forum.

It was perfectly satisfactory listening and discussing on the live issues of each country and power companies and sharing views on the direction of technology development and about the future technology. Also, the BIXPO provided the opportunity of networking between the CTOs and experts from various power companies, research institutes and manufacturers which helped a great deal in enhancing the status and usefulness of the event.

This year’s CTO Forum will have IEN (Integrated Energy Network) and Transition to a Digital Utility as its main themes and will feature in-depth discussions about the topic of Digital Utility and Technology Innovation in Session 1 and Realization of Digital Utility in Session 2.

Specially, the real-time Q&A system will be utilized to receive questions through mobile directly during the forum, and this will be shared through the screen to enable the presenter to provide the answer at the site itself, thereby making effective communication and discussions at the site.

아시아 최초 EPRI TI SUMMIT 개최
EPRI TI SUMMIT이 아시아 최초로 BIXPO 2017에서 열린다. EPRI(미국전력연구원)는 미국·프랑스·일본 등 전 세계 25개국 50여개 전력회사 단체가 연구기금을 지원하는 세계적 전력연구기관이다.

매년 회원사의 기술 경영에 대한 의견을 수렴하고 성장 전략을 수립하기 위해 EPRI TI SUMMIT을 개최하는데 올해는 아시아 최초로 BIXPO에서 유치했다. 이 자리에서는 청정에너지 생산 및 효율향상, 통합 에너지망 구축, 혁신을 위한 국가간 공조 등에 대한 모색이 이뤄진다.

한전은 CTO 포럼과 EPRI TI SUMMIT을 연계해 BIXPO 비즈니스 플랫폼을 구축하고 전력분야 선도기업과 해외 저명 학회를 유치함으로써 BIXPO의 글로벌화를 도모한다는 계획이다.

The EPRI TI SUMMIT will be held in the BIXPO 2017 for the first time in Asia. EPRI(Electric Power Research Institute) is a global power research institute that is supported by research funds from 50 power companies from 25 countries around the world including USA, France, Japan, etc.

Each year, the EPRI TI SUMMIT is held to collect the opinions of the members on technology management and to establish the growth strategy, and in this year, the EPRI TI SUMMIT will be held in the BIXPO for the first time in Asia. During the summit, discussions will take place about increasing the production and efficiency of clean energy, construction of integrated energy network, national level cooperation for innovation, etc.

KEPCO is planning to connect the CTO Forum and the EPRI TI SUMMIT to construct the BIXPO business platform and attract leading companies in the power field and eminent international societies to achieve a wider spread globalization of the BIXPO.

에너지와 도시의 융합 모색, Smart City Global Leader’s Summit
Hot테마 국제 컨퍼런스로 신규 기획된 Smart City Global Leader’s Summit도 기대를 모으는 컨퍼런스다.

스마트에너지 시티는 한전의 4차 산업혁명과 관련된 9대 전략과제인 KEPCO 4.0 프로젝트 중 하나이기도 하다.

프랑스 파리 부시장 및 벨기에 나뮈르 부시장 등 해외 10개국 1개 기구의 14명 지자체 및 단체장과 박원순 서울시장, 서병수 부산시장, 원희룡 제주도지사 등 국내 6개 지자체장들이 참여한다.

참가자들은 해외 주요 도시 스마트 시티 현황과 도시별 사례와 정책을 공유하고 스마트시티와 관련된 7개 Agenda를 협의한 후 공동성명을 발표할 예정이다.

The Smart City Global Leader’s Summit is newly planned as the international conference which is awaited with great expectations and is a hot topic already.

The Smart Energy City is also one of the KEPCO 4.0 Projects, the top 9 strategic tasks of KEPCO related to the 4th Industrial Revolution.

14 heads of the local governments and groups from 10countries and 1 organization including the Deputy Mayors of Paris (France) and Namur (Belgium), the Mayor of Seoul, Park Won-soon and the heads of 6 local governments in Korea such as the Mayor of Busan, Seo Byungsoo and the Governor of Jeju-do, Won Hee-ryong are participating in this summit.

The participants will share the status of Smart City projects in main cities and specific cases and policies of each city, they shall discuss 7 agendas related to the Smart City, and a joint statement will be announced.

4차 산업혁명 신기술 및 트렌드 공유
신기술 컨퍼런스는 국내외 산·학·연 전문가들이 참가해 한 해 동안 전력 분야의 발전 정도와 새로운 트랜드를 알아보고 참가자들이 서로 토론을 하며 의견을 교환할 수 있는 만남의 장이다.

올해는 4차 산업 기술 분야가 신설됐고 이외에도 기후변화, ESS, 스마트시티, 발전신기술 등 8개 분야 18개 컨퍼런스와 스페셜 세션, 전력기술 R&D 성과발표회 등 다채로운 콘텐츠로 진행된다.

한전은 4차 산업기술, 발전신기술, 송·변전신기술, 배전신기술 등의 분야별 주제로 컨퍼런스를 주관하며 이외에도 스마트시티, IoT 등의 분야에서 유관기관과 공동주관한다.

올해 처음 신설된 4차 산업기술분야는 11월 1일부터 3일까지 열리며, 에너지밸리기술원·국립전파연구원·한전·DNV-GL 등이 참여해 ▲4차산업 혁명 기술 트렌드 ▲Iot 관련 ICT표준화 국제컨퍼런스 ▲블럭체인 관련 ICT 표준화 국제컨퍼런스 ▲정보보안 컨퍼런스 ▲DNV-GL 컨퍼런스디지털라이제이션 등을 주제로 논의한다.

The New Technology Conference is attended by domestic and foreign experts from industrial, academic and research fields to verify the development level in the power field and the new trends over the recent year and to have discussions among the participants to exchange opinions.

In this year’s conference, the field of 4th industrial technology was newly established, and there will be 18 conferences in 8 fields including the climate change, ESS, Smart City, new power technology etc. Also, there will be various programs such as special sessions and presentations on latest developments in the Research and Development field about power technology.

KEPCO will be sponsoring the conference under each of the 4th industrial technologies namely new power technology, new power transmission and transformation technology, new power distribution technology, and joint sponsorship will be arranged in collaboration with relevant organizations in the fields of Smart City and IoT, as well.

세계적인 전문가들이 선보이는 에너지계 집단지성
세계적인 디지털 비즈니스 전략가이자 ‘블록체인 혁명’의 저자인 돈 탭스콧이 들려줄 특별강연에 대한 기대도 높다.

스페셜 세션은 총 5개 세션으로 진행된다.

10월 31일부터 11월 1일까지 이틀 동안 온실가스 저감 기술 개발에 대한 활동 보고와 국가 간 정보 교류·전파를 위한 ‘제52회 IEA GHG ExCo Meeting’이 한전과 IEA GHG 주관으로 열린다.

남미 국가의 친환경 성장과 혁신 에너지 비즈니스 모델을 논의할 ‘월드뱅크 에너지 포럼’은 11월 1일 진행되고, 같은 날 한·중 에너지 산업 현황과 미래 전략을 모색할 ‘광주·칭화에너지포럼’도 개최된다.

몽골-러시아-중국-한국-일본 등 동북아 전력연계에 대해 논의할 ‘동북아전력연계회의’는 11월 1일부터 2일까지 열린다. 일본·대만·인도네시아·캄보디아·태국 등이 참여해 아시아 전력사간 경영현안을 토의하는 ‘제33차 아시아 기획처장회의’도 한전 주관으로 11월 1일부터 2일까지 열린다.

Expectations are high on the special lecture by Don Tapscott, who is a world-famous digital business strategist and the author of the book ‘Blockchain Revolution’.

The special session will be further divided into 5 sessions.

For two days from October 31st to November 1st, the ‘52nd IEA GHG ExCo Meeting’ will be conducted jointly by KEPCO and IEA GHG to report on the activities regarding the development of greenhouse gas reduction technology and to exchange and spread the information between countries.

The ‘World Bank Energy Forum’ that will discuss about the eco-friendly growth and innovative energy business model in the South American countries will be held in November 1st and on the same day, the ‘Gwangju·Tsinghua Energy Forum’ will be held to review the status of energy industry in Korea and China and to find future strategies.

Also from November 1st to 2nd, the ‘Northeast Asia Power Interconnection Meeting’ will be held to discuss the power interconnection among Northeast Asian countries including Mongolia, Russia, China, Korea and Japan. Moreover, KEPCO will also hold the ‘33rd Asia Planning Agency Director Meeting’ from November 1st to 2nd attended by representatives from Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Cambodia and Thailand to discuss the pending management issues among the power companies in Asia.

4차 산업혁명 시대를 예고하는 신기술 대거 선보여
BIXPO 2016의 테마였던 에너지 신산업관, 신기후전시관, Inno-Tech Show, 동반성장박람회 등 4개관에 4차 산업혁명 시대에 필요한 테마를 추가해 전시관을 총 7개로 확대했다. AI, 빅 데이터, 로봇 드론 등을 활용한 신기술을 선보이는 에너지 4.0관, 주요 해외 스마트시티 구축업체와 국내외 스마트시티 관련 스타트업 기업이 참가하는 스마트 시티&스타트업관, 발전분야 우수 기업이 참가하는 발전신기술관이 신설됐다.

세계 각국의 우수 발명품을 초청해 전력 분야의 혁신적인 아이디어를 한눈에 볼 수 있는 국제발명대전은 국제발명가협회(IFIA)가 공식 인증한 것으로, 지난해보다 참가 자격과 분야를 확대했다. 지난해는 국내와 해외, 대학생만 참여했으나 올해는 BIXPO참가기업의 출품도 허용했고, 전력·에너지·ICT 친환경 분야에 생활과학 분야가 추가됐다.

지난해에는 한전발명특허대전과 국제발명대전으로 이원화해 시상식을 진행했으나 올해는 이를 통합해 BIXPO AWARDS라는 별도의 행사를 폐막식 때 진행함으로써 발명대전의 위상을 높인다.

From the 4 locations of the BIXPO 2016 of New Energy Industry Hall, New Climate Exhibition Hall, Inno-Tech Show and Win-Win Exhibition Hall, new locations required for the Period of 4th Industrial Revolution were added to expand the exhibition halls to a total of 7 halls. The Energy 4.0 Hall that introduces new technologies by utilizing Artificial intelligence, Big Data and Robot Drones, the Smart City & Start-up Hall that will be occupied by major foreign Smart City construction companies and domestic & foreign startups related to the Smart City, and the New Power Technology Hall that will be occupied by leading companies in the power field were newly established.

The International Invention Fair Awards is an official event certified by the International Federation of Inventors Association (IFIA), and outstanding inventions from all around the world are invited to see the new innovations in the power field. The qualification and field of participation was expanded compared to last year to get larger and diverse groups of participants. In the last year’s event, only the domestic & foreign university students were qualified for participation, but in this year, the companies participating in the BIXPO are qualified to give their submissions, and the life science field was added to the existing fields of power, energy and ICT related to eco-friendliness.

In the last year’s event, the KEPCO Invention & Patent Fair Awards and the International Invention Fair Awards were held separately to have two awards ceremonies, but in this year, the two events were combined to have the BIXPO AWARDS Ceremony during the closing ceremony to enhance the status of the event.

기술과 문화를 만끽할 수 있는 축제 한마당
일반 관람객들에게는 신기술체험관이 추천할 만하다. ‘기술은 보여지는 것이 아닌 경험하는 것’이라는 취지로 참가자들이 VR, 드론, IoT 등 체험을 통해 주요 신기술을 이해할 수 있도록 했다. 미래에너지 생활체험, 로봇, 자율주행자동차 시뮬레이터 체험 등 VR(가상현실)과 AR(증강현실)을 활용한 다양한 체험 프로그램을 통해 미래 신기술을 경험해 볼 수 있다.

BIXPO 2017에서 만날 수 있는 것이 기술만은 아니다. 첫날 김대중컨벤션센터 다목적홀에서 열리는 뉴서울필하모닉의 오케스트라 공연을 시작으로 행사 기간 내내 BIXPO 버스킹대회, 비보잉 공연, 재즈 공연 등이 야외공연장에서 펼쳐진다.

전력에너지 기업에 관심 있는 사람은 채용박람회를 놓치지 말자. 에너지밸리 기업 등 60개 사가 참가하는 에너지밸리 채용박람회에서는 전북, 전남, 광주지역을 중심으로 하는 대학생 및 고등학생 등 취업준비생을 대상으로 현장 면접 및 채용이 진행된다.

For the general visitors, the New Technology Experience Hall is recommended. The theme of this hall is that ‘Technology is not for showing, but for experiencing’ and the participants would be able to understand major new technologies by experiencing the technologies through the VR, drone, IoT etc. Also, futuristic technologies like future energy life experience, robot, autonomous vehicle simulator experience etc. can be experienced through various experience programs utilizing the VR(Virtual Reality) and AR(Augmented Reality).

Technology is just one part of the BIXPO 2017. On the first day, there will be an orchestra performance by the New Seoul Philharmonic in the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center, Multi-Purpose Hall followed by the BIXPO Busking Competition, B-boying Performance & Jazz Performance in the outdoor stage during the BIXPO period.

One thing that should not be missed is the Job Fair for those interested in joining power energy companies. The Energy Valley Job Fair will be attended by 60 companies including the Energy Valley Company, and there will be on-field interviews and recruitment for university and high school students in Jeonbuk, Jeonnam and Gwangju who are looking out for employment.
